DOS Labs Launches Avalanche Subnet for Web3 Gaming Ecosystem
DOS Labs, a major gaming studio, has launched the Avalanche Subnet to create an ecosystem for players and game developers, reducing the barriers to Web3 game creation.
DOS Labs, a major gaming studio with over 400,000 daily active players and a vast network of Web3 game developers, has launched an Avalanche Subnet, which promises to provide a seamless gaming experience with no gas fees and high-speed transactions. The launch of DOS Labs Subnet marks the creation of an ecosystem for players and game developers, providing an exchange, asset management tools, and other features.
The company's Subnet intends to provide a simple way for developers to add Web3 features to their games, lowering the barrier to Web3 game creation. The Subnet has already attracted a team of gaming studios that have started developing the next generation of Web3 games. With the formation of the Vietnam Game Developer Association, 11 studios and publishers, including Heroes & Empires, Suga, and Imba Games, have joined forces to bring their games to the DOS Subnet.
DOS Labs has announced that MetaDOS, a free, innovative Battle Royale game, is set to launch on the Subnet this June. MetaDOS offers players an opportunity to compete against up to 200 other players per match, with a “Time-as-currency concept” introduced into the game. Each player starts with a certain amount of time that depletes with time, and players must loot and fight to gain more time, to become the last player standing to earn rewards.
Anh Le, a co-founder of DOS Labs, explained that the company's primary mission was to deliver the best experience for onboarding Web2 players to Web3 gaming. They aim to reduce the onboarding process from over 20 steps to just three steps. DOS Labs believes in the long-term potential of the Avalanche network and DOS Subnet, and they are confident that game developers and players alike can benefit by utilizing their ecosystem.
“Providing the best experience for onboarding Web2 players to Web3 gaming is our first mission. Currently, it takes over 20 steps for a player to be able to play an NFT game, and we aim to reduce them to 3 steps. We strongly believe in the long-term potential of the Avalanche network and DOS Subnet, where all game developers and players can benefit by utilizing our ecosystem. MetaDOS and Heroes & Empires will be the first movers on DOS Subnet”.
DOS Labs' collaboration with Ava Labs and LayerZero Labs has led to the creation of DOS Chain, providing a seamless user experience and encouraging Web2 gaming studios to embrace blockchain-based game design.
Ed Chang, head of gaming at Ava Labs, stated that the Subnet represents an opportunity for DOS Labs and the Vietnam Game Developer Association to build an entire gaming platform with new revenue streams and partnership opportunities that don’t exist elsewhere.
“This Subnet represents an opportunity for DOS Labs and the Vietnam Game Developer Association to build an entire gaming platform, with new revenue streams and partnership opportunities that don’t exist elsewhere.”
Overall, DOS Labs' new Subnet marks a significant milestone for the gaming industry, allowing developers to easily integrate Web3 features into their games while providing a seamless experience for players. Furthermore, with the forthcoming launch of MetaDOS, players can expect to experience an innovative gaming experience unlike any other, making the future of gaming even more exciting.
