A Deep Dive into TON Diamonds
Here are some of the innovative features of TON Diamonds and why it is considered one of the top projects in the TON ecosystem
It seems like NFTs were the rave of the moment several years ago until interest in them seemed to wane. However, they have remained a critical part of the ecosystem and now there is a resurgence of interest in NFT artworks. The Open Network, the popular Telegram-based blockchain, is well poised to be a leading agent of change in this area via projects launched in the ecosystem.
TON Diamonds is a pioneering NFT project built on the TON blockchain. It is a thriving digital art marketplace, but it goes even beyond that to promote NFT art in the TON ecosystem, up to establishing a significant presence in the physical art world. Its strengths lie in its community-focused approach that prioritizes collectors and artists, and there are high hopes for the project. Ready to dive in?
Innovations and Features
Here are some of the innovative features of TON Diamonds and why it is considered one of the top projects in the TON ecosystem:
Community
One of the coolest features of TON Diamonds is the community. Diamond NFT owners get to join an exclusive community that includes the chance to chat privately with artists and various insiders. Also, depending on the size of a holder’s NFT, they get discounts on marketplace fees as well as improved airdrop chances. For instance, big diamond holders pay 0% fees and have 80% airdrop chances. All these are in addition to other opportunities, such as priority access to NFT sales, free entry to private events, and lots more.
Artist Collaborations
Besides being an NFT marketplace, TON Diamonds is also an auction house. This means that artist collaborations are a very critical part of what the project is all about. In fact, TON Diamonds launched the first auctions on TON with pieces from some of the world’s biggest digital artists. Some of the major artist collaborations so far include Ellen Sheidlin (sheidlina), Pokras Lampas (pokraslampas), Yonk (krotchy), Brickspacer (brickspacer), Shane Fu (shanef3d), Harry Yeff and Trung Bao (voicegems), Misha Babich (mishkas.art), etc.
Worldwide Exhibitions
As part of attempts to collaborate with artists and promote artworks, TON Diamonds regularly participates in international art fairs and exhibitions. This year, the project partnered with Ellen Sheidlin for the exhibition of her artwork “Mirage”, which sold for 10,000 TON at Art Dubai. NFT projects by TON-affiliated artists were also part of the Focus Art Fair held in New York City last year. TON Diamonds has also been part of exhibitions at the Louvre Museum in Paris as well as Prague, The Netherlands.
Dex Aggregator
Recently, TON Diamonds launched its DEX Aggregator for the TON blockchain, which integrates STON.fi and DeDust to facilitate seamless token trading and unique features. It also launched a Telegram mini app to make the process accessible to users in the ecosystem. So far, the aggregator has achieved 100,000 trades and over $50 million in trading volume, signifying strong growth.
Phygital Store
Back in April, TON Diamonds announced the launch of the first phygital store on TON. It provides artists with opportunities to release phygital NFTs so that collectors can receive both digital and physical versions of the artworks they purchase. This introduces a new dimension to the NFT art world and places the TON ecosystem at the forefront of innovation.
Glint Coin Tokenomics
Glint Coin was announced as the official token of the TON Diamond marketplace. Although the governance structure has not been fully fleshed out, it is certain that holders of Glint Coin will get a share of marketplace fees. They will also have some influence on the platform’s governance when the DAO is created.
For now, the farming of Glint Coin is being done in stages, but it is open to all TON Diamonds NFT holders. The amount of Glint Coin that each holder can farm depends on the speed of the particular diamond that they own, which is determined by factors such as quantity, size, and rarity. Holders can complete additional challenges to boost farming speed.
Continuing with the tokenomics of Glint Coin, its total supply is 22 million. The first stage of farming (Season 1) lasted about six months, and during that time, 22% of the supply was farmed. Season 2 is currently ongoing, with about 80 days to go, and about 22% of the total supply can be farmed. Here is how the rest of the token supply is distributed:
- Market stage (11%): at this stage, Glint Coin will be accessible to everyone and can be purchased via DEXs
- Burn Exchange (11%): users will be able to burn TON Diamonds NFTs in exchange for Glint Coin
- Development team (22%)
- Glint staking (12%)
Development and Roadmap
TON Diamonds is a heavily community-focused project, and it never fails to make that clear. Hence, the project’s future plans are focused mostly on granting even more privileges to NFT holders. These include airdropping a limited number of real diamonds to limited holders as well as launching a 3D collection of diamonds. It also plans to establish a private merch store through which community members can get branded items and various kinds of presents. In addition, plans are in place for the launching of the DAO as well as determining the governance direction regarding marketplace development.
